Weekend Thoughts...

I was thinking, yesterday, about a very troubling issue I have found within myself...
I have found that it is very hard for me to simply meditate on the character of God. I can always spend a long time praying about issues and things that I want, but I have found that I don't really know how to enjoy God as I should... To simply spend time contemplating His character and His holy attributes.

That being said... my weekend challenge is to spend some time and just quiet yourself. Get away from all distractions and just take time to write out all of the characteristics of God that you can think of. How big of a list can you come up with? Spend some time in prayer, praising God for who He is and what He has done! This is what true worship is all about; it's an overflow of what is in our hearts...
A true relationship with Him will produce true and heartfelt worship.

I think it's important that we have a good understanding of who God is before we dive into what it looks like to model His character.

And with that... I hope you have a great weekend and I look forward to starting our study on biblical love on Monday.

Grace and Peace...

"Yet on your fathers did the LORD set His affection to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, even you above all peoples, as it is this day." Deut. 10:15

"Trust in the LORD forever, for in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock." Isaiah 26:4

"In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation." Exodus 15:13

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
